Lavender & Peppermint – Great Summertime Oils
June 10, 2009 by bearinggifts
It’s summertime! The warm weather brings with it great opportunities for getting outside and having fun! To celebrate the joy of summer, Young Living is offering a special promotion available during the month of June 2009.
Lavender is know as the “swiss army knife of essential oils”. Great for burns, headaches (especially when used together with Peppermint) and relaxation in general. Calming, relaxing and balancing, it also has antiseptic, antifungal, vasolidlating and anti-inflammantory properties, among others! It also combats excess sebum on the skin.
Did you know that Lavender is often extended with hybrid lavender or synthetic linalol and linalyl acetate which can render it unsafe for use? Young Living Lavender Therapeutic Grade is pure Lavandula angustifolia - of that you can be certain.
Peppermint is wonderful for cooling the body – great to use while gardening, sightseeing – or any other time you are hot. Try a drop on the back of the neck
or add just one drop to a glass pitcher of water and sip throughout the day. Peppermint is also a stimulating oil – helps to keep us alert when tired (like those long car rides on the way home from vacation). It also helps to curb appetite and is a digestive stimulant as well. The University of Cinncinati found that inhaling peppermint increased mental accuracy by 28%!
Another great Young Living Product which is a must for summertime is
LavaDerm Cooling Mist. A spray bottle with a combo of Lavender oil, Aloe vera and deionized water. Great for moisturizing the skin after sunburns or grilling burns!
